Children’s Ministry Update:

Coronavirus Disease 2019 is now spreading in our own state and churches need to plan and prepare ahead. How will we here at EBC and our children’s ministry respond to Coronavirus fears?

“Why cancel church during a pandemic?” We are loving our church family by protecting others.  We are not being afraid but being responsible and this is what is required of us during this season.

Please continue to join us for worship online on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Sharon Andrews and the worship team will lead us in songs of praise, and Pastor Rit will deliver the sermon message as well.  Please continue to follow on EBC Facebook Page for updates.

Parents, we would encourage you to continue your devotion/prayer time with your children. Things can become uncertain and fearful when there is such a change in our family routines. Lifeway is providing an app (LifewayKIDS) for the preschool/children ministries to continue with each Bible story Lesson. This is a wonderful resource to use for Gospel Project Bible Lessons. Each lesson presents the Bible Story through games, interactive coloring, Key Passage, and Family Starter Conversation. The app has both free and paid content that can aid with family discipleship.

Contact Crystal if you would be willing to be a VBS volunteer for this children’s ministry opportunity.

During these challenging days of uncertainty, we ask for you to be in prayer for: those sick from COVID-19, our church family, leadership (local, national, and international), as well as medical personnel, first responders, and law enforcement officials. As you do this, consider the ministry and mission opportunities you have to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Prayerfully,
Crystal and Lori

Our Vision:

Our goal is to partner with parents in building spiritual foundations of faith in the lives of boys and girls.  We want to help kids grow in a relationship with Jesus and equip parents to do the same at home with their kids.

Preschool Ministry (Infant - Kindergarten)

Our preschool ministry environment is called Wonderland.  It’s a place where babies and preschoolers can feel safe, have fun, and embrace the wonder of the God who created them, loves them, and wants to be their friend.

Nursery/Worship Care

We provide loving care and attention for infants-3 year olds in WonderLand during each of our Sunday morning services (8:30 & 11:00).  Our nursery is staffed by caring volunteers, all of whom have been approved through our Good Shepherd protection program.  We utilize a texting system for notifying parents parents during the worship service if they are needed by their child.

Children’s Church

Children’s Church is an extended Sunday School session for children ages 4 and 5.  It meets during the 11:00 worship service.  Children who want to participate in Children’s Church are dismissed with adult leaders midway through the worship service and go to a room in WonderLand.  Details are posted in the bulletin each Sunday.

Baby Dedication

Raising children is an awesome privilege and responsibility.  Through the Bible, God commands parents to love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and by doing so, set an example from which their children can learn to love and follow God, too.  While the duty of teaching children belongs to parents, EBC wants to be a trusted partner with parents in their journeys ahead. Young Seekers

Young Seekers is an ongoing missions discipleship organization for preschool boys and girls (birth through kindergarten). Through Young Seekers, preschoolers . . .

  • become aware that God wants everyone to know of His love

  • move from a focus on self to a focus on others

  • apply Bible thoughts to their lives as they learn to pray, give, and help others.

  • and their families learn of ways to give their time, talents, and money

Elementary Ministry (First - Sixth Grade)

Our elementary ministry environment is called Discovery Zone.  Each week, children can discover Bible Stories through video, music, engaging activities and more experiencing The Gospel Project.

The Gospel Project

The Gospel Project is our Bible Teaching Ministry for 1st-6th graders that meets every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 in every Discovery Zone. This Christ-Centered curriculum follows a two-year chronological timeline of Biblical events. Students will gain a clear understanding of the entire gospel story and how all of the scripture points to the gospel of Jesus. To learn more about the Gospel Project, click here!

Trekkers
Trekkers is mission education for boys in grades 1-6.  Trekkers provide boys an opportunity to develop Christian character through mission involvement and virtue commitments.  Boys are led to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and in relationships with others.  Boys learn about God’s mission, participate in on-mission experiences, pray for and give to missions, develop and use mission skills, and learn about and support the missions work of the church and denomination.   Trekkers meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 in Discovery Zone.*

Pathfinders
Pathfinders is mission education for girls in grades 1-6.  Girls learn about, pray for, give to, and do missions work.  Girls have opportunities for hands-on ministry experiences, to develop leadership skills, to learn about the biblical basis of missions, and to be mentored by godly women.  Pathfinders meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 in Discovery Zone.*

Other Children's Programs

There are several different ways for children to get involved here at EBC! There are activities and programs that occur through every season of the year. Take a look at all EBC has to offer for your children!

Choir

The Children’s Choir provides children (ages 4 and 5) with opportunities through music to learn about God, to experience worship, and to develop their musical talents.

The Celebration Choir is for 1st through 6th graders.  Kids learn music fundamentals and learn how music can serve as a means to worship.  The choir presents musicals each Christmas and Easter as well as sing in worship services at various times throughout the year.

Rehearsal for both choirs take place on Wednesday nights from 5:40-6:25 during September to May.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a fun-filled week during the summer organized around a creative theme during which kids learn about a relationship with God.  Kids engage in worship rallies, small group activities & bible study, crafts, energetic music, organized recreation, and more.  VBS is for 3-year olds through sixth graders.  Click here to register your child and to learn more about VBS this summer!

Look Up Lodge

Look Up Lodge is our summer camp experience in Travelers Rest, SC from August 7-10.

Camp at Look Up Lodge is fun—in a crazy, 75-foot-swing-over-the-lake, counsellors-in-zany-skits, laughing-hysterically-as-you-dodge-paintballs, you-and-your-friends-making-lifetime-memories kind of way—but there’s so much more than that, too.

You’ll try brand-new experiences and meet new people. Dynamic group activities and downtime around the campfire will give you opportunities to deepen your friendships and build stronger ties with your church group.

Most importantly, you’ll be challenged to grow deeper in your walk with God. Powerful worship time will help you to catch a glimpse of how majestic He is. Relevant, biblically sound teaching will help you grasp what it really means to be God’s child. And discussions directed at personal application will challenge you to live out your faith in the real world.

Are you ready for the Look Up Lodge experience?
