Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! - Psalm 112
The purpose of the EBC Men's Ministry is threefold: 1) to mentor young boys and teenagers to become godly men; 2) to provide opportunities for men to grow together spiritually and relationally; and 3) to provide opportunities for men to serve others in the name of Christ.
This is the strongest local mission outreach of EBC. We Work in conjunction with the Shelby Mission Camp and other community organizations. This ministry is "hands on" and is active throughout the entire year as various projects are completed throughout our community (e.g. wheel chair ramps, home repair work, handicap accessible renovations, etc.).
"F3" stands for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith. The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. The classic F3 workout requires no equipment other than workout clothes, gravity, and the great outdoors. This ministry meets throughout the course of the week and revolves around outdoor workouts.
NC Baptist Men Disaster Relief & Mass Feeding Teams:
These ministries require certification and work in conjunction with the Baptist State Convention of NC. These ministries are also open to women as they are fond of saying, "Some of our best NC Baptist Men are Baptist Women." EBC teams have participated in various emergency response situations over the years.

Senior Adult Ministry
"Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life." - Proverbs 16:31
The Senior Adult Ministry is a vital part of the "growing, going, and giving" of EBC. We identify this age group of 55+ as "Keenagers" because they are "keenly" involved in every facet of our church life.
Keenagers travel to the beach each September, staying at Springmaid Resort. While there, they take in a show Alabama Theater or Carolina Opry. Lasting friendships are made as seniors have daily devotions and visit in the hospitality room. Seniors have also made trips to Strawberry Hill, NarroWay Theater in Charlotte, Sevierville and the Smith Family Theater with stops at Dollywood and Apple Barn
Seniors have traveled to the Billy Graham Library and enjoyed the holiday meal as well as toured the grounds. The Cove is another memorable visit. Then there is always the annual catered Christmas luncheon with holiday music and cheer.
Seniors love to socialize: annual hotdog outings, ice cream with youth entertaining, Valentine breakfast, and potlucks!
Every Tuesday seniors meet at 1:30 pm in the choir room for a time of fellowship and singing. They often sing for the 8:30 am service on Sundays, as well as rest homes, assisted living centers, and care groups. The choir also presents musicals at Christmas and in the spring; while also combining with other local churches for an annual choir festival.
Senior Adult Day:
On a Sunday in May of each year the church celebrates its seniors. Keenagers plan the agenda for both morning services; from the announcements and welcome, to leading the sermon with special guest ministers! The choir loft is typically filled with seniors! Following the services they enjoy a catered meal in the Christian Life Center.
Sunday Night Worship:
Seniors are very active on Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. by going over a variety of biblical topics.
Seniors enjoy prepared meals at the church on Wednesday nights. Some come early to sit and catch up on the latest happenings in each other's lives. After each meal, they are involved in the Through-the-Bible study in the sanctuary. Homebound seniors or even those who are temporarily homebound for surgeries and illnesses receive the weekly meals, brought to them by a volunteer. Several seniors also volunteer on a monthly rotation in the kitchen in a variety of ways from washing dishes to slicing cakes.
The Homebound Ministry is provided for senior adult members who because of health reasons, can no longer attend worship services here at EBC. This ministry reaches out to members who are homebound, in nursing care, or in assisted living facilities. Various groups in the church may visit homebound members regularly during the year. For example, Sunday school is provided each Sunday at Brookdale Senior Living in Shelby. Groups may also go Christmas caroling during December. A DVD recording of the services can be ordered through the church office. You can also watch the 11:00 am Sunday morning service via online-streaming (click here).
Minor repairs, yard work, and other projects are sometimes provided for senior adults on a request basis. Each case in evaluated by a team of work project leaders who determine if the repairs are within their ministry objective. A request box in available in the hallway leading to the sanctuary.
EBC deacons provide an encouragement/care ministry to single adults through-out the year following the Biblical model found in Acts 6.
