Message from Pastor Rit:

Update Regarding COVID-19

April 09, 2020

Just a reminder that we are continuing to pray for you and your family during this time of social distancing. Tomorrow, we will have the communion elements setup outside from 9AM-3PM in front of the church. Come by during that time and share in the Table of Our Lord. The elements are individually prepared so you will only be handling the elements you will take and your GRACE card.

Also, on Resurrection Sunday, we will have our cross under the front porch of the sanctuary for you to bring your flowers by and to take pictures with your family. If there are other people there when you arrive, please maintain a distance of 6 feet between you. May the power of God the Father, the passion of Christ the Son, and the presence of the Holy Spirit be with you now and ever more.

March 27, 2020

Many of us are wondering when things will get back to normal. Trust me, they will. When? That I don’t know. But until that time comes, we will work in conjunction with our community to stop the spread of COVID-19 by reducing our physical contact with others.

I was pleased to see that the executive order issued for NC on Friday, March 27, 2020 listed Religious Entities as part of the “Essential Businesses and Operations” of our state (Section 2.C.10). Likewise, under Section, people are allowed to leave home in order to travel “to and from a place of worship.” Thus, we will continue to practice good social distancing guidelines by offering our livestream worship services on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am.

In the event a need arises that requires you to come to our church office, our office hours will be Monday from 8:30am – 4:00pm and Wednesday from 8:30am – 2:00pm. I know I speak for all of the staff when I say how much we miss seeing all of you.

The words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 1:11-12 are very fitting for us, “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established -- that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.”

Pay attention to our announcements on our website and on Facebook – particularly as they regard our schedule for Holy Week which starts on Sunday, April 5.  We look forward to seeing some of you when you come by on Palm Sunday and/or Good Friday.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue giving through our online offerings. Simply, click "Online Giving" below to use our online giving portal. During this time of uncertainty, let’s continue to Grow spiritually, Go on mission for the Lord, and Give to the work of the Lord and in love to our neighbors.

Know that we are praying for you, for our community, and for our nation.

Much love in Christ,
Pastor Rit
